Largs Town Twinning is a members’ association that helps to promote friendship between the people of Largs and its twin town in France – Andernos-les-Bains. By forming links, we help to bring the community together and bring more culture to our towns. We do this by encouraging visits by individuals and groups from each town, particularly, young people. We aim to develop mutual understanding of each other's cultural, educational, sporting, social and commercial activities and use them to develop our links.
Our twin town – Andernos-les-Bains - is also twinned with two other European towns which has added interest and colour to our twinning. They are Nussloch in Germany and Segorbe in Spain. While our main activities are between Largs and Andernos, the four towns now participate in a bi-ennial sports weekend. The event is held in a different country every two years, with the Games held in Largs in 2013 for the first time. Our organisation has a number of events and activities throughout the year when all the members can come along, participate and have some fun.
